The following explains OIW policies on refund of membership fees.
Death of member
Upon written request by the heirs/executor/relatives following the death of an OIW member, a prorated refund is available. The heirs/executor/relatives could also request the refund be donated to a charity or used by OIW for a specific purpose dictated by them.
Moving away from the Ottawa area
OIW does not provide refunds in the case of members moving away from the area. Several members live at some distance from Ottawa and maintain their membership. OIW does offer an associate membership for those who move away and wish to continue their association once the current membership expires.
Cooling off period
For new members who quickly decide the investment is not what they wanted, OIW will refund the membership fee, upon written application by the member within one month of the start of the membership, less the value of one month of membership.
