Local authors, many of them members of OIW, were hard at work selling their books at the Fair.
About 600 people attended the two-day Ottawa Authors & Artisans Fair held for the first time at Dominican University College at 96 Empress Avenue.
More than 40 Ottawa-area authors and artisans sold their books, crafts and artwork. The event also featured presentations by Ottawa authors Denise Chong and Brian Doyle. There were guided tours of the very historic college, lectures and a networking workshop for writers.
Seven packages of books donated by the Dundurn Group of Toronto were raffled, raising $212, which will be donated to the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario.
"Many thanks to all authors and artisans who participated, and thanks to members of the public and representatives of Dominican University College who supported the event," says OIW president George Laidlaw. "We also thank all of the volunteers who helped out during the Fair."
